BBA and BRE join forces over the Green Deal
The British Board of Agrément (BBA) and Building Research Establishment (BRE) are joining forces to provide the necessary Certification to energy assessors and installers wishing to operate under the Green Deal. This will facilitate an integrated service for Green Deal Providers and others looking for reassurance that installations will be carried out fully in accordance with the requirements of the Green Deal standards.
The BBA and BRE Global anticipate that they will be among one of the first tranche of certification bodies to be accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to provide Certification, for installers and assessors respectively, by the end of April.
Both companies will be at Ecobuild (BBA –S2360, BRE Global –S1430) to promote their collaboration and answer specific questions. For a general overview of The Green Deal, daily ‘bite size’ presentations will be given on the BRE Global stand at 12.30 for the duration of the show.
In addition, BRE Global is organising two ‘Green Deal Awareness’ days at their site in Garston on 25th April and 3rd May and the BBA will be on hand to help support this initiative.
More details of these events will be published on the BBA and BRE Global websites ( www.bbacerts.co.uk and www.bre.co.uk) shortly.
